Early life and education
Tom was raised in Oxford in a working-class family with 13 siblings, by his father and mother who are both teachers; Thomas has a twin brother, Merlin. Tom became interested in acting while attending Cherwell School, joining the school’s drama club after being encouraged by his teacher, and subsequently appearing in most of the school’s plays.
He was also physically active playing soccer, but eventually decided to focus on acting, and to play sports only for fun, so he joined the National Youth Theatre. Upon matriculation, Tom enrolled at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) in Hammersmith, London, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in drama in 2011.
