yesterday's 'the dirt' premiere was awesome. tried to keep my resting bitch face that i practiced🙊 but could not stop smiling in the end. 🤷♀️ so happy for all four of them motley brothers and simply can't imagine how insane it must be to see your story come alive on the big screen🖤
She probably benefits from the success of her husband as well, with Mick having a net worth estimated to be over $70 million, earned mostly with his success as a member of Motley Crue.
Life and Career
Seraina grew up in Zurich, and at a young age became interested in the fashion world. She aspired to become a model, and after completing her education she did just that, eventually finding work in the profession. She posed for local magazines, and was eventually encouraged to compete for the title of Miss Zurich.
She won the beauty pageant, getting a chance to compete at Miss Switzerland and hopefully gaining the opportunity to compete in one of the world’s prestigious beauty pageants.
She wasn’t able to win the competition, but gained enough attention to land more opportunities. She mainly worked in Switzerland, appearing in magazines and in advertisements for various brands. Her fame and income led her to frequently visiting the US., and in 2007 she met the Motley Crue at one of their concerts, as she is a big fan of the band. After meeting Mick Mars, the two remained connected and eventually started dating.
Husband – Mick Mars
During his youth, Mick’s family moved around, going through several locations in Indiana before eventually settling in Garden Grove, California.
At a young age, he aspired to find success in the music industry, learning the guitar and envisioning himself playing with bands. He joined various 1970s rock bands with influences of the blues genre, but didn’t gain a lot of attention. In the meantime, he worked on various odd jobs to make ends meet.
He spent nearly a decade frustrated at never getting any traction within the industry, and in his frustration changed his entire look, reinventing himself through an image change. He then put an ad in the newspaper as he was looking for a band to work with, leading him to be contacted by Tommy Lee and Nikki Six. This band would become the Motley Crue.
The band was formed in 1981 alongside lead singer Vince Neil and has since enjoyed a lot of popularity with huge success in terms of album sales.
The Success of Motley Crue
Motley Crue took its name from an expression from one of their encounters in daily life, as they were described to be a motley looking crew. The group has released numerous successful albums, beginning with hard rock albums such as “Too Fast for Love”, and “Shout at the Devil”. In the mid-1980s, the band started incorporating glam metal, and became known for their elaborate live performances. They have charted numerous albums during their run, including their only number one album “Dr. Feelgood”.
Many of their albums have platinum certification though, as they’ve reputedly sold over 100 million albums worldwide.
In the 1990s, the band went through several changes, temporarily having John Corabi as a lead vocalist and also several drummers who filled in during the absence of Tommy Lee in the early 2000s. The group eventually reunited as a whole, and continued releasing music with their latest being “Saints of Los Angeles”. The group had a final concert in 2015, but a few years later, they then decided to reunite, working on a new Netflix biopic film “The Dirt” and releasing four new songs as a part of its soundtrack. The soundtrack proved very successful, and their biopic also gained a lot of attention.
Other Endeavors – Mick Mars
Aside from Motley Crue, Mars has been known for contributing songs to other popular bands, including Evanescence, Papa Roach, Hinder, and Escape the Fate. He also collaborated with Black Smoke Trigger for the song “The Way I’m Wired” which was released in 2019. During his career, Mick has been known for using guitars that were current fads, such as a BC Rich, Gibson Les Paul, Superstrats, and the Kramer. His favorite guitars are Fender Stratocasters, often models from the 1960s which he is most comfortable with, a highly customized guitar suited to his style.
It’s known that Mick suffers from ankylosing spondylitis, a form of arthritis that affects his pelvis and spine. He was diagnosed with the disease when he was 17 years old, and has suffered from chronic pain for most of his life. The disease has impaired his movement, even leading him to undergo hip replacement surgery in 2004. He admitted that in recent years his lower spine has frozen solid and has given him scoliosis, resulting in him decreasing three inches in stature.
Seraina was not Mick’s first wife, as he was first married to Sharon Deal in 1970 which lasted for three years before a divorce.
His next marriage was to Emi Canyn in 1990, who was heavily involved with the Motley Crue at the time. The marriage also lasted for three years, with Mick later going public about how his ex-wife was deceiving him. He met Seraina at a concert in 2007 and the two began dating shortly after, which attracted a lot of media attention due to their 33-year age difference. She publicly stated that she was in love with him, which increased attention on them even more. They stayed together for six years until deciding to marry in 2013, however, the couple rarely make public appearances together. They reside in Nashville, Tennessee.
