Career as an actress

Milly gained recognition after she portrayed Matilda Wormwood in the stage musical “Matilda the Musical” from 8 March 2013 to 19 January 2014, performed at the Sam S. Shubert Theatre. The play is based on the eponymous novel written by Roald Dahl, and follows a five-year old girl who can move objects with her mind, but who is struggling in her life due to family issues as well as problems at school. For her performance, Milly was awarded a Tony Honor of Excellence and was nominated for a Grammy Award for the Best Musical Theatre Album.

In 2014, Milly and Abigail released their live album recorded while they were performing at 54 Below called “Live Out Loud – Live at 54 Below”. The year 2016 saw Milly perform as Sally Brown in the musical comedy play “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”, performed at the York Theatre, which is based on characters which Charles M. Schulz created in his “Peanuts” comic strip.

Milly made her debut film appearance in 2018, starring as Charlie Graham in the drama horror mystery film “Hereditary”, which also starred Toni Collete and Gabriel Byrne and which follows a family who had suffered a loss, and is now haunted by strange and unexplainable happenings.

Milly was praised for her performance, and was then invited to guest star as Emma Rebecca in the episode “We Need to Talk About Karen” of the comedy TV series “Splitting Up Together” in 2018.
