Annie Bakes is an American former model, born on 26 February 1965 in Allentown, Pennsylvania USA. She’s best known for being the ex-wife of professional basketball player Dennis Rodman.

Early Life

Although Anicka ‘Annie’ Bakes was born in Pennsylvania, her family didn’t stay in only one place, so she spent her childhood and teen years traveling. Annie’s family identity is unknown, as well as details about her childhood and educational background.

When she was 16 years old, she caught the attention of a model agent who insisted she would be a great model. That’s how Annie Bakes became interested in modeling. However, after her 18th she began painting for adult-oriented magazines.

Unfortunately Annie Bakes’ career was cut short when she was involved in a car accident in 1986, which left her with many scars on her body, and made it impossible for her to continue modeling as before.

Looking for ways to sustain herself, she started working in nightclubs as a hostess.

Personal Life

Story With Dennis Rodman

In 1987 Annie Bakes met Dennis Rodman in a Sacramento bar she was working in at the time. The pair apparently fell in love instantly, and he gave Annie the impression that he was a caring man.

Amidst their intense romance, Annie and Dennis started living together, and soon she became pregnant with his child. In 1988 their daughter Alexis Caytlin Rodman was born.

Annie and Dennis’ relationship continued after the birth of Alexis, and the couple finally married in 1992, though the marriage didn’t last for long. Late that year Bakes filed for divorce, and claimed Dennis had abused and repeatedly hit her during the years they were together.

After the separation, she asked for $7.700 for monthly child support. She also affirmed she had stopped working as per Rodman’s insistence, who apparently assured her he would sustain her financially after becoming a couple.

Allegedly, Annie had asked Dennis to get marital counseling before their separation. Dennis had accepted, though he apparently didn’t keep his promise: ‘after a couple of times he (quit). You can’t force this guy to get help. He doesn’t think he has a problem. He thinks he’s indestructible.’

Life After Divorce

After Annie and Dennis divorce, he allegedly didn’t visit his daughter for prolonged periods of time, as Bakes told The Chicago Tribune in 1997. In the same interview, Bakes affirmed her daughter Alexis – who was eight years old at the time – was having anger issues caused by her distant relationship with her father: ‘Alexis shows a lot of anger right now, and she’s holding it against me that I left Dennis.’

Bakes affirmed her daughter’s problems were affecting her scholar life and relationship with fellow classmates: ‘Alexis also keeps saying to kids at school: ‘My daddy has girlfriends,’ and, ‘My daddy doesn’t come to see me’.’ After hitting a girl at school, Alexis was taken to counseling to deal with her anger.

Where Are Annie and Alexis Today?

It’s unknown when exactly Dennis and his oldest daughter fixed their relationship, though recently they have been spotted spending time together. Alexis was interviewed for her father’s series “Rodman: For Better or Worse“, and described her father as a ‘beautiful person’.

Despite this, further details about Alexis Rodman, her personal life, career and interests are unknown.

In recent years, Annie Bakes has kept herself away from the media spotlight. She currently works at People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA), and lives in Citrus Heights, California.
