He was raised Roman Catholic with a younger brother in his hometown by their father, Tim McVay, who played American Football at Indiana University, and mother, Cindy McVay. High School Career

At the age of six, Sean McVay moved with his family to Brookhaven, Georgia, and there attended Marist School, where he started playing American Football, joining the War Eagles as a defensive back and quarterback. Thanks to his skills, Sean reached 1,000 rushing yards and passing in consecutive seasons, which made him the first player in the school history to achieve that.
