Who is Cody Ko?
Cody Michael Kolodziejzyk, more popularly known as Cody Ko, is a Canadian YouTuber, born on 22 November 1990 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In addition to his YouTube career, he is also a podcaster, comedian and rapper.
He attended Duke University, after which he invented “I’d Cap That,” an iPhone application that chooses an ‘hysterically crude caption’ that people can use to add to their photos.
The app accumulated more than four million users in a few months, and was named the ‘Free App of the Week’ by the App Store in May 2014. The Silicon Valley company, Iddiction, acquired the app soon after he developed it, and Cody then went on to work as a senior iOS developer at a subsidiary of AT&T’s WarnerMedia, Fullscreen.
Cody’s popularity results from the now non-existent app, Vine, on which he would upload short comedic skits. After Vine was shut down, he moved to YouTube, on which he creates videos centered on reacting and commenting on other YouTube videos and famous personalities.
He also works very closely with Noel Miller, a former Viner and current YouTuber – they’ve collaborated on a number of videos together, including some of Cody’s “That’s Cringe” videos, and a “Let’s Play” of the video game “Love Island.” The two friends have also formed a rap duo called Tiny Meat Gang, and have released two EPs, “Banger & Ass,” consisting of five songs in 2017, and “Locals Only” in 2018. In October 2019, they signed with Arista Records.
Cody and Noel also co-host a podcast with the same name as their rap duo; this podcast won a Shorty Award for best podcast in 2019.
Cody was also part of the TV series “The Real Bros of Simi Valley” in 2017, with fellow YouTuber Jimmy Tatro.
After completing college, Kelsey worked as a pre-school teacher for some time. Even though she joined YouTube on 11 December 2014, she only began uploading videos to her eponymous channel in December 2017. To date, she has more than 700,000 people subscribed and enjoying her variety of content, including challenges and food-related videos. Her most-viewed videos include “Met Gala 2018 Fashion Review” and “Turning Noah Centineo’s Tweets into Mad Libs.”
Following the review’s success, in May 2019 she uploaded, “Met Gala 2019 Fashion Review,” which racked-up more than a million views, and is one of her most viewed videos.
Thanks to her fame and success on YouTube, several brands and products promote her channel.
Kelsey is also famous on Instagram, where she has over 500,00 followers; on there, she promotes her videos, posts about her day-to-day life, and some gorgeous photographs. Brands also endorse her on Instagram.
She has collaborated with several fellow YouTubers, including Kristen McAtee and Emma Chamberlain.
Kelsey is most-famous for dating YouTuber Cody Ko. On 20 September 2017, she appeared on “Insanely Chill,” his former podcast, in the episode, “Taco Tuesday Girl”, and has since appeared in many of his YouTube videos.
When guest-lecturing at the University of California, Cody was asked how he met Kelsey. He answered, ‘I met Kelsey in front of her spice cabinet, and we did the cinnamon challenge.’
They often post pictures together on their social media.
Kelsey enjoys posting photos showing them loved-up wherever they go, and Cody comments with loving messages on all of her posts, perhaps as a way to declare his love and support for her publicly. Kelsey too is very supportive of Cody, and everything he does, so they appear to be very happy in their relationship. As Cody is more famous than Kelsey, their relationship has helped propel her online career, as his subscribers and fans often support her too.
Kelsey is good friends with Matt King, an Instagram star – he also frequently appears on her channel.
She is a massive stan of Taylor Swift and the musical “Hamilton”; she did a video in which she took online quizzes of them, and whenever she got a question wrong, she would take a shot. When they went to New York, she went to watch “Hamilton” live with Cody.
She has brown hair, blue eyes, is 5ft 3ins (1.6m) tall, weighs 125.lbs (57kgs), and has several tattoos, including ‘1991’ in roman numerals and a teddy bear.
Net worth and salary
As of 2020, Kelsey’s net worth is estimated at over $2 million.
