Early Life and Education
Holiday spent a few years of her youth in Portland with a dentist father and a mother who worked as a teacher. Her father later enlisted in the US Army and with his new life, she spent a lot of time traveling across Asia with her family. Eventually, she returned to the US to continue her studies, and attended high school in Colorado.
Wanting to take a break from her studies, she then spent some time in Washington and took up an acting class there, in which she would meet her future husband, Wilson.
Afterwards she moved to Iowa, and pursued her dream in writing by enrolling at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, a creative writing program held within the University of Iowa. The program is well-known in the country, considered by many as the best program in the US, having produced numerous Pulitzer prize winners.
Career and Philanthropy
One of Reinhorn’s first notable releases is the book called “Big Cats”, published in 2005. The book is a collection of short stories, and contains a dedication to her husband.
Her work can be seen in various literary magazines, including “Ploughshares” which is a quarterly magazine that often features writers who have won major writing awards such as Pulitzer Prizes, Nobel Prizes, National Book Awards, and many more. During the start of his career, he did theatrical productions, while working as a moving van driver to help pay the bills.
