Abby was raised as a single child in San Antonio, Texas by her father who was a theatre actor, and her mother who was a dentist.
She became interested in acting at the age of six when she watched her first play at a theater, and while attending Churchill High School, Abby was a member of the school’s drama club and appeared in nearly all the plays performed there. Upon matriculation in 1997, she enrolled at Carnegie Mellon University’s Drama School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre in 2001.

Abby made her debut TV series performance portraying Veronica Roberts in the episode “Everybody Loves Rudy” of the mystery drama series “Glory Days” in 2002, before she was invited to guest star in a episodes of the procedural forensics crime drama series “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and the action crime drama series “Fastlane” in the same year.
She portrayed her first recurring character, Dariene Prufrock in the crime mystery drama series “Push, Nevada”, which starred Derek Cecil and Scarlett Chorvat and which follows a Federal agent who is searching for $1 million reported missing in a small city; the movie was nominated for an Art Directors Guild’s Excellence in Production Design Award. Her first notable role came in 2009 when she portrayed the supporting character in the drama film “Like Dandelion Dust”, which follows the lives of one rich and one poor family; the movie was a hit, winning 26 awards and becoming nominated for 23 others.
Abby went on to star in the short comedy film “No Place, CA” in 2010, written and directed by Kat Coiro, and in 2011 she starred as Ariadne in the thriller movie “In Black” which was both directed and written by Evan Apostolakos. Some of Abby’s latest roles in movies have been in the 2011 comedy film “Life Happens” in which she portrayed Shiva the Yoga Teacher, and the drama film “North Blvd” in which she played Elaine in 2014.

Love life and husband
Abby has been married twice – she met her future first husband Jake La Botz in the early 2000s.
Jake is a famous American blues singer, actor and a meditation teacher, best known for his blues tours around Chicago. They married on 27 May 2006, but due to what appears to have been infidelity from Jake’s side, they divorced in 2008.
Shortly afterwards Abby met artist Stefan Bishop, and they started dating just days after meeting which led to rumors about how Abby might have been cheating on Jake with Stefan. Abby and Stefan married on 22 January 2010 in a small ceremony attended by only their closest friends and family, and in 2013, Abby gave birth to their son Tru Brammell Bishop. The family of three is currently living together at their home in Los Angeles, California.
It is widely believed that Abby was a in a long-term relationship with her college sweetheart before leaving him after meeting Jake La Botz.
Hobbies and other interests
Abby has several training sessions at the gym each week, and is also following a strict diet, meaning no fast food for her and little to no sugar, while she is also focused on ‘training her soul and spirit’, which is why she also does yoga and meditates. She enjoys spending her free time outdoors, especially in the parks where she usually reads a book, and some of her favorite writers are Herman Hesse and Agatha Christie and their books “Siddhartha” and “Murder on the Orient Express” respectively.
