Early life and education
Grayson was raised alongside his two sisters Savannah and Lindsie, and his two brothers Chase and Kyle, by their father Todd and their mother Julie Chrisley, who is a housewife.
All family members are very close to each other, and when Julie was diagnosed with breast cancer, everyone was there to help her until she officially won the fight against it.
Grayson was only four years old when he received his first ‘phone. He was pushed into the world of TV entertainment at a very early age, and at seven started appearing in his father’s TV show “Chrisley Knows Best” and has since been a member of the main cast. Grayson has just recently completed his elementary education, and is about to start attending high school, when it opens!
Grayson’s career and his father’s show
Grayson gained recognition only thanks to his father’s reality TV series, which is airing on the USA Network and which follows his father’s life and his work as well as the lives of the entire Chrisley family. The series was first set in Roswell and Alpharetta in the northern Fulton County of Georgia, before it moved to Nashville in Tennessee after airing for three seasons.
The show was initially offered to ten networks, nine of which offered to air it – Todd eventually chose the USA Network and premiered in December 2013, produced by Stephanie Chambers, Jim Sayer and Adam Greener.
After the first season attracted many viewers, most of whom were younger people, the USA Network ordered a second season on 14 April 2014 comprising 12 episodes. By June 2018, the show had aired 100 episodes and counted six seasons. However, after the seventh season ended, it was revealed that Todd and Julie had committed bank fraud, wire fraud and tax evasion, and were sent to jail on 14 August, but soon released after $100,000 bail was paid. They continued to work on their show and its eighth season began airing on 9 July 2020.
The show has mostly been described as ‘average’ by the critics. Tom Gliatto from the magazine “People” described it in this way – ‘This is the best ‘family’ reality series since Here Comes Honey Boo Boo or even The Osbournes from several centuries ago.’ – and this is the best critique the show has so far gotten. All the reviews didn’t stop “Chrisley Knows Best” from winning The National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) Reality Breakthrough Award in the category Docusoap – the show was also nominated for a 22nd Critics’ Choice Award for Best Unstructured Reality Series in 2016.
There have been several spin-offs from the series; the first – “According to Chrisley” – began airing on 12 September 2017, and starred Todd talking about marriage, relationships and parenting – it aired one season before it was cancelled due to poor ratings. On 3 October 2017, another spin-off was launched entitled “What’s Cooking With Julie Chrisley”, and it counted 10 episodes which followed Julie sharing her own recipes. On 2 April 2019, their new spin-off “Growing Up Chrisley” began airing, featuring Chase and Savannah who travelled from Nashville to Los Angeles to prove to their parents that they are independent enough – the show attracted some attention, and was renewed for another season which began airing on 6 August 2019.
Relationships, hobbies and interests
Grayson is still very young to be dating although there are rumors circulating the internet that he might have been in a ‘relationship’ with his elementary school sweetheart, as some people have stated seeing the two spending time together on multiple occasions, however, Grayson hasn’t commented on this, and as of August 2020, he is single.
He is physically very active, and his favorite sport is baseball – he played for his elementary school’s team, and is planning to continue to play it at high school.
He likes to travel and has been to several USA states with his parents, such as New York, California and Florida, and is hoping to one day visit several European countries, no matter which ones.
He is a lover of animals and wants to have a pet dog but his parents won’t allow it.
In his spare time and mostly late at night, Grayson likes to watch Hollywood movies, and his favorite actors and actresses are Johnny Depp, Emma Watson and Amanda Seyfried; some of his favorite movies are the franchise “The Pirates of the Caribbean”, another franchise “Harry Potter”, and the romantic comedy “Letters to Juliet”.
