They married on Valentine’s day in 1999 in an apparently extravagent ceremony, and settled in Hughes’ 32,000-square-foot house in Malibu. As usual, the pattern for Darcy continued, as this marriage also wouldn’t last, but this time because Hughes died just one year into their marriage – he reportedly took a prescription pill, after drinking a huge amount of alcohol, making it a lethal mixture, and Darcy woke to find her husband dead.
