Who is actor Paris Berelc and what is her ethnicity?
Paris MaryJo Berelc was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA, on 29 December 1998 – her zodiac sign is Capricorn, her ethnicity is half-Filipino half-American, and she holds American nationality. She is an actress who is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Alexa Mendoza, one of two lead characters in the comedy series “Alexa & Katie”, which aired from 2018 to 2020 and also starred Isabel May. The series follows two friends who are about to start attending high school and are feeling as outsiders who won’t be able to fit in – it won one award and was nominated for five others including a Primetime Emmy.
Early life and education
Paris was raised alongside her three sisters Bless, Joelie and Skye in Milwaukee, by their father who was a musician and their mother who was a housewife. All the girls are successful, as Bless is an actress, Joelie is a gymnast and Skye is about to launch her acting career.
Paris became interested in dancing at a very early age, and her mother enrolled her at a dancing school when she was four. Paris then went on to practice gymnastics, and was training for nine years during which she won several competitions and championships.
She was noticed by a modelling scout when she was nine, and signed to Ford Models Chicago. A few years later, she was invited to attend her first acting audition, and her parents decided to move to Los Angeles so that she could work on her acting career. She enrolled at a local high school, matriculated in 2016 and didn’t pursue a college degree, but focused on becoming an actress.
Roles in TV series
Paris was cast to make her debut TV series appearance in 2012 portraying the lead character Rebecca in the news series “Health Corner”, which was also to star Tiffany Campbell and Cesar Gamino, but the pilot episode wasn’t picked up by any network.
In 2013, she got to play the lead character in the six episodes the family mini-series “Disney 365”, which also starred Rowan Blanchard and Ian Gilligan.
She gained recognition in 2013 after she was invited to play three characters in 44 episodes of the comedy science fiction series “Mighty Med”, created by Jim Bernstein and Andy Schwartz, and which starred Bradley Steven Perry and Jake Short. The series aired until 2015, and it won Eric Dean Seaton a nomination for an Image Award for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series.
In 2016, Paris starred as Skylar Storm in the adventure comedy series “Lab Rats: Elite Force”, which also starred William Brent and Jake Short, and in the same year played the lead character Sofia in the comedy series “WTH: Welcome to Howler”, about three teenagers in their freshman year who are neighbors to two hot girls – the series was nominated for two awards.
Paris’ most recent appearance in a TV series has been in 2018, when she was cast to play Phoebe Actor in the episodes “The Thunredth” and “The Thunder Games” of the action comedy “The Thundermans” which starred Kira Kosarin, Jack Griffo and Addison Riecke, and is about twins who have superpowers – the series won two awards and was nominated for 16 others.
Roles in movies
Paris made her debut film appearance in 2014, when cast to play Captain Berelc in two short films “Work That” and “Nod Your Head” and she reprised her role in 2015 in two other shorts “Night You Won’t Forget” and “California Party Life”.
Also in 2015, Paris played Molly, one of the lead characters in the adventure comedy film “Invisible Sister”, which also starred Rowan Blanchard and Karan Brar and is about Cleo who makes her sister invisible after her science project goes terribly wrong – the film won Paul Hoen a Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Children’s Programs.
In 2018, Paris played the lead character Brittany in the drama thriller film “Deadly Scholars”, about a teenager who is a serious journalist and trying to get a full scholarship in competition with several other students. The following year saw her portray June in the horror mystery thriller film “Confessional”, starring Lucas Adams and Annalisa Cochrane and which is about seven students who are invited to a mysterious confessional booth after the deaths of two of their college friends – the movie won a Method Fest Award for Best Ensemble Cast in a Feature.
Three of Paris’ most recent roles in movies have been in the 2019 short action “Lines of Desent” in which she played the lead character Carla, its sequel “Lines of Descent” in which she reprised her role as Carla in the second half of 201,9 and the comedy drama “Tall Girl” which was released on 13 September 2019.
Paris has recently finished shooting for the comedy mystery film “Hubie Halloween”, which is set to be released on 7 October 2020, starring Adam Sandler, Peyton List and Julie Bowen.
Love life and boyfriend
Paris started dating Jack Griffo in 2017 after they met on the set of “Alexa & Katie” and they were together for over two years before quietly splitting – nobody knew they’d broken-up until Paris was seen kissing another guy. While they were together, Paris and Jack attended numerous events side by side, and could’ve been seen dining at expensive restaurants and travelling to exotic locations.
Paris is currently in a relationship with Pete Yarosh – since mid-2019 she’s uploaded many pictures of them together onto her Instagram account. Pete is a non-celebrity man, and judging by his Instagram account, he is a year or two older than Paris.
Paris hasn’t talked about any other men she might have been with, so as of October 2020, she is in a relationship, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
Hobbies and other interests
Paris likes to travel, and her acting career has made it possible for her to visit many US states while she’s also been to several European countries for both work and pleasure – her two dream travel destinations are Miami in Florida and Paris in France.
She is physically very active as she has four to five training sessions at the gym each week, while she is also following a strict diet, meaning Paris doesn’t eat fast food nor anything that has sugar in it.
She is a lover of animals, but doesn’t have a pet due to a lack of time to take proper care of it.
She has her own favorite actors and actresses, some of whom are Johnny Depp, Channing Tatum and Natalie Portman, and some of her favorite movies are the franchise “The Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Dear John” and “Leon: The Professional”.
