Where is she today and what is she doing now?

Laura retired from acting in 2013 and is currently leading an apparently peaceful life at her home in Mexico City.

Early life and education

Laura was raised an only child in Comalcalco by her father who was a factory worker, and her mother Jaime Velderrain who was a singer. She became interested in acting at a very early age, and was invited to play her first role (uncredited) while attending high school – at this point, Laura dreamed about becoming a famous model and singer, and wasn’t planning on launching an acting career.

She quit high school after only a year to pursue her dreams, rather than focusing on her education.

Career as an actress

Laura made her debut film appearance in 1976, when she portrayed a supporting character in the romantic drama “Pink Zone”, which follows Leonor who is working in a brothel and the love of her life Juan who had just escaped from prison to be with her.
