Julia Winter was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on 17 March 1993 – her zodiac sign is Pisces and she holds both British and Swedish nationality. She is an actress, perhaps still best known for her portrayal of Veruca Salt in the family adventure comedy film “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, released in 2005, directed by Tim Burton and written by Roald Dahl. The movie starred Johnny Depp, Freddie Highmore, and David Kelly, and wass about a boy who gets to tour around the best chocolate factory on Earth, while having the best and most unusual cookie maker as his guide.
It was a huge success, winning 14 awards and being nominated for 51 others including a Primetime Emmy.
Julia is no longer acting but is rather focused on studying.
Childhood and education
Julia was raised alongside her younger brother and sister in Stockholm by their father, who was working at a theatre, and their mother who was a piano teacher; the family moved to London, England when Julia was eight. She became interested in acting at a very early age, and began taking lessons at a local theatre while attending elementary school.
When she was invited to appear in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, her acting skills weren’t perfected, and it required some work to get her ready for the role. She went on to guest star in the short adventure documentary film “Becoming Oompa-Loompa” which starred Tim Burton, Nick Davis,and Johnny Depp, and which is about how the actor Deep Roy was preparing to play his role as Oompa-Loompa in the movie “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”.
She went on to appear in the short documentary film “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Different Faces, Different Flavors”, which was directed by Sam Hurwitz and starred Helena Bonham Carter, Tim Burton and Liccy Dahl. Julia also appeared in another short documentary movie “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Designer Chocolate”, which was again directed by Sam Hurwitz and which starred Tim Burton, Johnny Depp and Liccy Dahl.
