What is Molly Roloff doing today? Wiki Bio
Molly Roloff was born in Oregon, USA, on 17 September 1983, so her zodiac sign is Virgo and she holds American nationality. Molly is an actress, reality TV star, and an accountant, best known for appearing alongside her family in the reality documentary series “Little People, Big World”, which has been airing since 2006. It stars Molly’s parents Matthew and Amy Roloff and her siblings, and follows the family’s everyday struggles as ‘little people’.
Molly doesn’t now appear in the series, and is rather focused on her career as an accountant.
Childhood and education
Molly was raised alongside her older brothers Jeremy and Zachary who are fraternal twins, and her younger brother Jacob – only Zachary of all the siblings has inherited the dwarfism condition from his parents, which makes him shorter than other people. Unlike her brothers who are mostly focused on starring in their parents reality show, Molly grew up being interested in creative writing, and in acting, while she was also physically active in high school, playing a variety of sports such as handball and soccer. Upon matriculation, she enrolled at the private institution Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington State, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in both accounting and Spanish language in 2005.
Career as an actress and reality TV star
Molly gained recognition after appearing in “Little People, Big World” from 2006, but wasn’t happy that her and her family’s entire lives were shared with the public, which is why she reduced her appearances in the show. In 2017, she finally stopped appearing, which made the fans wonder whether she is still in good relations with her family; her mother later stated that she is no longer living with them as she is married, but occasionally visits when the cameras aren’t filming.
Molly has also appeared in the spin off series “Little People, Big World: Wedding Farm”, made a guest appearance in the popular “The Oprah Winfrey Show”, and appeared in the documentary “Big Dreams”.
Career as an accountant and other ventures
In June 2012 after deciding she wanted to work on her own career, rather than to focus on starring in her parents’ show, she became an Assistant Coach at Indoor Goals where she stayed until August 2013, and then became an Accounting Intern at Hotel La Condesa in San Rafael, Costa Rica. She stayed with them for four months until August 2014, when she was hired to serve as The Associated Students of Willamette University’s HUB Manager, while she was mostly in charge of conducting safety procedures in the Hixon Union Bulding.
She then worked for the 1st Presbyterian Church from June to August 2015, researching the current market situation and recommending actions for the church to take, while she also worked at ABC Transcription, Inc. as their transcriptionist. In September 2016, she joined the accounting company Moss Adams in Spokane, Washington State, serving as their assurance staff member before she was promoted to Assurance Senior in June 2018. Molly has been working for them for nearly four years now.
Love life and relationships
Molly met her other half, Joel Silvius while they were both attending Whitworth University, and the two dated for over 10 years before marrying on 5 August 2017 at Molly’s parents’ farm in Oregon – the ceremony was attended by only the two’s closest family and friends. They have no children and are currently living in Spokane.
Joel is also a reality TV star, as he has appeared in many episodes of “Little People, Big World” as well as in its spin-offs. He launched his career as an accountant in 2006, and is today working for the Etailz, Inc. software company as their Financial Analyst.
The two have a pet dog, and it appears as they have a dog to get ready for their first child.
Hobbies and other interests
Molly has a very tight schedule at work, but enjoys spending her free time travelling around the US with her husband, and they have also vacationed in Europe and visited countries such as Greece and Italy.
She is a philanthropist who has volunteered with several charity organizations, while she’s also served as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistant at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), helping elderly and low-income people do their taxes. Molly is interested in all kinds of arts, and occasionally visits local galleries when they have painting and sculpture exhibitions.
Late at night Molly likes to watch movies, and some of her favorite actors and actresses are Heath Ledger, Robin Williams and Anne Hathaway, while her favorite movies include “Catch Me If You Can”, “Brokeback Mountain”, and “One Day” among others. She is also keen on watching detective crime series such as “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “Midsomer Murders”.
Appearance and net worth
Molly is 36 years old. She has long brown hair and brown eyes, is 5ft 8ins (1.74m) tall, and weighs around 136lbs (62kgs). As of April 2020, her net worth is estimated at over $500,000.
Molly’s father – Matthew James ‘Matt’ Roloff – was born in San Francisco, California USA, on 7 October 1961 to Ron and Peggy Roloff, who can often be seen appearing in the show “Little People, Big World”. Matt had over 15 operations during his first three years of life to try and fix his diastrophic dysplasia, while his younger brother Sam is suffering from the same condition and has to use crutches when walking. Matt also has an older sister Ruth, who doesn’t have the condition, while their brother Joshua died in 1999 due to a heart problem.
The family owned 34 acres of land in Helvetia, Oregon before they purchased an additional 80 acres in 2010. They have built numerous things on their land, including a pirate ship, a Medieval castle, a soccer field and a volleyball court, and tunnels and mine shafts – the farm is visited by more than 30,000 people each year. Matt is also a writer, and together with a ghostwriter he has written and published “Against Tall Odds: Being a David in a Goliath World” in 1999, as well as “Little Family, Big Values: Lessons in Love, Respect and Understanding for Families of Any Size” in 2007. His third and latest book – “Little Lucy, Big Race” – was published in May 2018.
Molly’s mother Amy Roloff was raised alongside three siblings by their parents Gordon Knight and Patricia Knight, while Amy is the only member of the family suffering from achondrplasia, a genetic disorder which is the cause of her dwarfism. She studied at Franklin High School and Central Michigan University, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in business. She is a reality TV star, having appeared in shows such as “Good Morning America”, “Celebrity Buzz”, and “The View” among others. She is also a writer, having published her book “Short and Simple Family Recipes” in 2006.
Matt and Amy separated in March 2014, while their divorce was finalized in mid-2016.
