Vincent Martella is an American actor, who is perhaps still best known to the world as Greg Wiliger in the TV comedy series “Everybody Hates Chris”, which showcased the childhood and adolescent years of the famous comedian Chris Rock. The series aired from 2005 to 2009, and launched young Vincent to stardom. In addition, Vincent is also known as the voice of Phineas in the animated series “Phineas and Ferb”.

Vincent Michael Martella was born on the 15th October 1992, in Rochester, New York State, USA, of Italian ancestry. He is the son of Michael and Donna Martella, owners of the Captain Tonny’s Pizza restaurant chain. While growing up, his family moved to Florida, where he spent the rest of his childhood years with his three siblings – one is Alexander Martella, also an actor. He went to DeLand High School, from which he matriculated in 2011, and then started studying for a business degree as a part of the online program at the University of Florida.
Career Beginnings and Immediate Success
Vincent’s career actually started in 2004, with a minor role in the TV series “Cracking Up”, but it was just enough to obtain the role that changed his life. The following year he was chosen as Greg Wuliger in the TV comedy series “Everybody Hates Chris” (2005-2009), which launched him to stardom. The series became a global hit, and he received two Young Artist Award nominations. While working on the show, he was actively pursuing other roles, and featured in the comedy film “Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo” (2005), then the comedy film “Role Models” in 2008, starring Paul Rudd, Seann William Scott and Elizabeth Banks.
After the end of “Everybody Hates Chris”, Vincent turned more to voice acting, but has still continued to appear in films and TV series; the latter series as a guest star, such as “Love Bites” (2011), then “The Middle” (2012), while in 2015 he starred in the horror-comedy film “Clinger” (2015). The same year, he also appeared in the biopic about Jim White, a man who lost his job as a football coach, entitled “McFarland, the USA”, starring Kevin Costner, Maria Bello and Ramiro Rodriguez.
Voice Acting and Recent Projects
In 2007, Vincent was chosen as the voice of the animated character Phineas Flynn in the TV series “Phineas and Ferb”, and until 2015 provided the voice of several characters in the show, which celebrated him as the voice actor, as he featured in a total of 130 episodes of the popular show. He was also the voice of Phineas in the animated movie “Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension” (2011), for which he jointly won the BTVA People’s Choice Voice Acting Award, as a part of the best voice ensemble.
Furthermore, he voiced Phineas in the animated series “Take Two with Phineas and Ferb”, all-new episodes from 2010 to 2011, and also voiced the famous character in the video game “Disney Infinity 3.0”, while most recently he gave voice to Phineas in the film “Izzy Got the Frizzies”.
In addition, Vincent can be heard through other characters; he provided the voice of Hope Estheim in the video game franchise “Final Fantasy XIII” (2009), then the sequels “Final Fantasy XIII-2” in 2011, and “Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII” (2013). He was also the voice of Bradley in the animated series “Milo Murphy’s Law”, between 2016 and 2019.
Currently, Vincent is working on yet another Phineas and Ferb production, “Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe” (2020). He is also set to portray Jack in the drama film “Shallow Water”, in which he will star next to Ciara Renee, and Nick Ballard. The film is currently in post-production, and yet to receive its release date.

Vincent has exposed many talents since first appearing in front of the camera; he is also a musician, a singer and piano player. His debut album was called “Time Flies By” (2006), and he worked on all the songs by himself, singing and playing the piano; the songs can be downloaded from iTunes.
