Early life, family
Victoria Elizabeth Kheel was born on 1 June 1959 in Rochester, New York State USA, where she was raised by her parents Julian and Lee Kheel. Her father was a sound mixer working for the series “G word” and her mother was an actress known for the movie “Jersey Guy” in 2003. Lee Kheel also appeared in in seven episodes of the late-night talk show with Conan O’Brien.
I guess I could have married James Spader (my middle school and life long crush). Look at what his wife looks like! Damnit!
Victoria has two brothers and two sisters; her nickname is Vicky, and she now lives in Los Angeles, California.
Victoria Spader’s career really began in 1988, when she worked on the “Jack’s Back” movie, and then in 1989 on the “Sex, Lies and Videotapes”, in both of which James Spader was the leading male role. It is not known if she is still in the industry, however she is self-employed in a home staging company for real estate called Wonderland Home Design.
Victoria and James met in a yoga studio, where James was the instructor and she attended the classes, in New York in the 1980’s. They were together for a long time as a couple, before marrying in 1987. Victoria and James have two sons together. However in 2004 they divorced after James filed for divorce – although the reason for the break-up isn’t known, it is familiar that James started a relationship with his now fiancée Leslie Ann Stefanson in 2002, when they played together in the movie “Alien Hunter”. Victoria has not been involved in a relationship that is known to the public after the divorce.
Sons Sebastian and Elijah
Their first son Sebastian Spader was born in 1989. He works as a producer and director, known for the short movie “Slice” in 2007, the movie “Machete” in 2010 and the short comedy in 2012 “First Kiss with Rachel Leigh Cook & Chad Michael Murray”. Sebastian is also a photographer who travels a lot and enjoys taking portraits; he’s had solo and group exhibitions. In 2015, all the photos he’d taken over the past five years were published in a book named “Wondering”. Currently Sebastian is a real estate agent.
The second son also has a career in the film industry – Elijah Spader was born in 1992, and works as a writer and actor. Elijah appeared in the short comedy “Roll for the Initiative” in 2014. and the TV series published on YouTube “Nailed It” in 2015. He’s also a talented musician who played guitar in 2018 and 2019 with the alternative rock/pop band LDYKLR based in Los Angeles, California.
Ex-husband James Spader
James Spader was born on 7 February 1960, in Boston, Massachusetts USA, and has two older siblings. He was raised by parents who both worked as teachers.
James attended private school where his parents taught, and continued his education at Phillips Academy, Yet at the age of 17 he left school and moved to New York to start his acting career. He worked various jobs before succeeded in acting, such as bartending, driving a truck and teaching yoga – that is how James met his future wife Vicky.
In 1981 he had a role in the movie “Endless Love”, followed by “Tuff Turf” in 1985 and “Pretty in Pink” in 1986. His next movie was “Sex, Lies and Videotape”, for which role he won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor in 1989.
In the 1990’s Spader played roles in the “White Palace” with Susan Sarandon, “Bad Influence” with Rob Lowe, “True Colors” with John Cusack, “Stargate” with Kurt Russell among others, and appeared in several TV series. From 2004 to 2008 he played in “Boston Legal”, which brought him two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama series in 2005 and 2007 – his first Emmy Award had come in 2004 for the same character he played in the series “The Practice”. In 2009 he appeared on Broadway, in the play “Race” which had 297 performances.
From 23 September 2013 Spader is well known as Red Reddington, a former US Navy officer in the TV series “Blacklist” on NBC – the series is now in its eighth season, and for which in 2014 and 2015 he was nominated for Best Actor in Drama at the Golden Globe Awards. Spader’s nickname is Jimmy – he doesn’t want to watch any of his movies, perhaps because he usually plays sneaky and sleazy anti-hero characters.
In 2003 “Alien Hunter” was filmed, in which Spader acted with Leslie Ann Stefanson – they started a relationship and are still together although not married.
In 2008 they became parents of a son Nathaneal, the third child for the actor.
Victoria is 5ft 4ins (1.63m) tall. She has black, curly hair and brown eyes.
As of early 2020, Victoria’s net worth is estimated at over $2 million, but since she is not in the spotlight after the divorce from James, there is no confirmed current information. On the other hand, her ex-husband’s net worth is estimated at over $10 million, with $120,000 per “Blacklist” episode. It is not known how the couple split their assets after the divorce.
