During her pregnancy, Beyoncé still performed at various events, such as the 2017 Grammy Awards and the premiere of Disney’s “Beauty And The Beast” in Los Angeles, showing off her baby bump which delighted her fans.
According to People magazine, Beyoncé and Jay Z welcomed the twins on 13 July 2017. The news was confirmed by their grandfather, Beyoncé’s father Mathew Knowles when he tweeted a photo that said “Happy Birthday to the twins! Love, granddad” and wrote “They’re here!”
The magazine obtained their birth certificates in the next month, and revealed that they were born at 5:13 a.m. at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, and that they were delivered by Kim Kardashian’s doctor. Rumi was born first and then came her brother Sir. Beyoncé shared the first photo of the newborns on 14 July 2017, with the caption “Sir Carter and Rumi 1 month today”, and confirmed their names. The proud parents even trademarked the names of their babies, so indicating their business acumen too!
According to ABC News, during his interview for Tidal Jay Z said “Rumi is our favorite poet, so it was for our daughter”. He also tried to describe his son, “Sir was like, man, come out the gate. He carries himself like that. He just came out, like, Sir.”
Thereafter, Beyoncé and Jay Z decided to keep their children far away from the limelight, and to just enjoy with the newborn babies, and their older daughter Blue Ivy.
Pregnancy Complications and “Homecoming”
In September 2018, Beyoncé revealed the cover story of the magazine ‘Vogue’ by writing an essay about her second pregnancy and complications she had, so she was forced to cancel her performance at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. During her pregnancy, she developed pre-eclampsia, which is a condition that leads to massive weight gain and high blood pressure. At the time of their twins’ birth, Beyoncé weighed around 218lbs (99kgs). Since the delivery of their babies was very painful, and the heartbeat of one of them in her womb had paused for a few seconds, she underwent an emergency C-section.
After birth, the babies had to undergo phototherapy treatment to remove high levels of bilirubin in their blood, since they were at a high risk of developing jaundice. They recovered and everything was fine, and she proved it with her great return to perform at the Coachella in 2018. The documentary concert film “Homecoming” is based on her story; it premiered on Netflix in April 2019.
Love Story of Famous Singer and Legendary Rapper
Beyoncé and Jay-Z met each other back in 1997, but they didn’t become romantically involved in a relationship until after their collaboration on the song “’03 Bonnie & Clyde” in 2002; she even appeared as his girlfriend in the music video for the song. The couple successfully managed to cover up their relationship for many years, but it was eventually revealed that they were together.
