Sarah Victoria ‘Torri’ Higginson was born on 6 December 1969, in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, and is an actress, best known for her work in the “Stargate” franchise, namely “Stargate SG-1” and “Stargate Atlantis”. She’s also worked on the films and television shows of the “TekWar” franchise, a series of novels created by actor William Shatner.

Career Beginnings

Torri made her acting debut in the independent film “The Photographer’s Wife”, in which she played the role of Suzanna. She continued with a string of independent film projects, and eventually found her way to television, with one of her first notable roles in the television movie “Family Pictures”, which is based on the Sue Miller novel of the same name. She worked alongside Kyra Sedgwick and Sam Neill in the movie.

Life After Stargate

Following Higginson’s run in “Stargate Atlantis”, she continued her television work, with guest appearances in “Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior” and “Eleventh Hour”. In 2015, she was cast in her next starring role in the series “This Life”, based on the Richard Blaimert novel “Nouvelle Adresse”, which ran for a year before its cancellation. Afterward, she gained a recurring role in the show “Dark Matter” during its first three seasons, playing Commander Delaney Truffault. The show is based on the comic book of the same name.

While working on that show, she also gained another starring role, in the web series “Inhuman Condition” which aired on KindaTV and YouTube. Torri doesn’t talk about her romantic relationships a lot, though it is known that she is single and has never married. She has been in a few high profile romances in the past  she dated musician John Kastner, who is known for being the lead singer of bands such as Asexuals, Doughboys, and All Systems Go! She was also in a relationship with English musician Paul Raven, who was known for his work in the band Killing Joke. Raven passed away in his sleep in 2007, after suffering a heart attack.

Aside from acting, Torri is a foodie, and loves growing food – she has a tomato garden which she uses to create many recipes which she features on social media. She’s a dog lover too, having a pet dog of her own.
