In the same year, she portrayed Stephanie at five in the comedy movie “I Love My Wife”, which starred Elliott Gould and Brenda Vaccaro, and which follows a successful married surgeon who starts sleeping with several women; the film won Angel Tompkins a nomination for a Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer – Female.

Dawn’s last role in a movie before she retired from acting was again playing Dwana in the action crime drama “Final Chapter: Walking Tall” in 1977, which follows the last days of life and the death of Buford Pusser. Even though retired from acting, Dawn accepted when she was invited to appear in the documentary series “TV Land Confidential” in 2005, and “Biography” in 2008, while she also appeared in two documentary movies “The Actor’s Journey” and “The Actor’s Journey for Kids” in 2011.

Sean Edward Hartman’s Wiki: Phil Hartman’s Son & Family

Published

on

Introduction

Sean Edward Harman is an actor and artist. He is also the son of the deceased Phil Hartman and Brynn Hartman, actually best known as a result of the tragic death of his parents, whereby his mother Brynn Hartman committed suicide shortly after murdering her husband. Sean was only nine at the time of this occurring, which therefore shaped his life.

Early Life

Sean Edward Hartman was born on the 17th June 1989 (age currently 31) in Sunset, Vancouver, British Colombia in Canada.

His zodiac sign is Gemini, and he now has joint American-Canadian nationality. He was raised in Los Angeles, California as it was close to the television production his father, Phil Hartman was working at and involved with.

Sean’s heritage from his father’s side is English, German and Irish. On his mother’s side it is more of a real mix – English, Scottish, French Canadian, Danish, Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian and Mexican.

Phil Hartmann, Sean’s father, was a well known and loved Canadian screenwriter, graphic designer, actor and comedian, regularly appearing on the NBC comedy show “Saturday Night Live” (SNL), completing his eighth and final season on SNL in February 1998.

He was also a voiceover artist, best known for his work voicing many of “The Simpsons” characters, as well as being the voice for Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo.

Phil was married three times, first to Gretchen Lewis from 1970-1972, then Lisa Strain from 1982-1985, and shortly afterwards met his future third wife and Sean’s mother Brynn, an aspiring model on a blind date; they married in 1987. Sean has one younger sibling, Birgen Anika who was born in February 1992.  Both of Sean’s parents suffered from alcohol and substance abuse issues, as the impact of fame apparently effected both parents negatively. As a result of this, the early years of Sean’s childhood were not the most peaceful or stable.

On the 28th May 1998, the infamous suicide murder event took place that changed Sean and his sister’s life forever. After attending a restaurant in Los Angeles, Brynn Hartman shot Phil Hartmann three times whilst he was sleeping in bed. After admitting to a friend what she had done, she locked herself in the bathroom and shot herself in the head. This murder-suicide left Sean and his sister Birgen orphans; Sean was nine at the time, and his younger sister Birgen, six. They were both in the house whilst this happened, which was therefore obviously a deeply traumatic event for them both. Afterwards they were taken to a park by a family friend, who could tell they were in shock. They apparently announced their sadness that their mother ‘wouldn’t be able to take her to do all the fun things she’d promised’.

Much of Hollywood mourned the loss of Phil. In an attempt to remove the children from a media circus, they were sent to live in the Midwest with a maternal aunt, Katherine Wright and her husband Mike; the couple didn’t have children of their own. They took custody of the children, and raised them outside of Los Angeles, apparently with the children using a different last name during their childhood in order to “shield them from the media and allow them to grow up in relative obscurity”. First they lived in Eau Claire, a community in northern Wisconsin, and later in Edina, Minnesota. Later on, the children went to live with a paternal relative, their uncle and Phil’s brother John.

Early education, career, hobbies/interests

Once in school, it became clear that Sean was an artistic character just like his father had been before him.

He attended Edina High faculty for high school. During his time here he took part in artistic endeavours such as creating and illustrating the poster for the short film ‘Kimura’s Vengeance’. Sean had a clear passion for music from a young age, and was a member of several bands, one such being ‘Metamorphic Mexico’, of which there are black and white photos available.

After high school he attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design which he later graduated from, after which he interned at several artistic companies, pursuing his dream of staying within the artistic world.

Career

Sean is an actor, writer, a graphic art designer, a voice artist, artist and a comedian.

He has used his natural interest and passion with the arts to create a career that has expanded in different directions within the artistic realm. He has had various illustration and graphic design jobs, although none of them are well known to the public realm.

He is the keyboard player in the band ‘Moonstone Continuum’ which perform in the US. He is currently performing Stand Up Comedy with the Cleveland Comedy club as he can be seen promoting on his Instagram account. He is relatively active on Instagram, as @sean_hartman.

Sean currently resides in Oakland, California.

Partner

Sean is currently single, although he is very private about his personal life. He doesn’t comment on this, post about it, or make any public statements that could lead to further indications of his relationship status.

Other relationships

Sean is still close with his sister Birgen, after attending her marriage to Brandon in 2018. Birgen and Branden became engaged in 2015 and were married in 2018 in a beautiful ceremony in Italy. There are photos of this ceremony, which looked like a fairy tale occasion for Birgen. Sean remains a supportive and close brother to his sister and only sibling. Birgen continues to live outside of LA, stating that her love of nature compels her to lead a more rural lifestyle.

Birgen was featured in SNL’s 40th anniversary special show, reuniting with many of her father’s old friends; Sean wasn’t in attendance.

Unlike as children, today both proudly use their real last name ‘Hartman’.

Net Worth

Sean Edward Hartman’s current estimated net worth stands at $1 million. He and his sister were both left with an inheritance from their late parents, who had planned ahead in the event of their death, so left behind an estate of an estimated worth $1.23 million. This was to be awarded to the children in parts – 25% each after they attained a bachelor’s degree, and the other 25% each upon them turning 30.

Furthermore, sources suggest that Sean is currently making $150,000 to $200,000 yearly on an average salary through his various graphic design work and artistic endeavours.

Physical characteristics

Sean Edward Hartman is tall, with brown or black hair, and green eyes.
