Charlie Heaton was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England on 6 February 1994 – his zodiac sign is Aquarius and he holds British nationality.
He is an actor and a musician, probably best known for having portrayed Jonathan Byers in the Netflix supernatural series “Stranger Things” which has been airing since 2016.
Charlie was raised as an only child in Leeds by his mother, as his father abandoned them not long after he was born. He became interested in music at a very early age and his mother enrolled him at a school of the performing arts at which he practiced singing, dancing and acting.
He was also physically active as he played a variety of sports including soccer and tennis, but at the age of 16, Charlie moved to London where he became the drummer of the rock band Comanechi. He spent a year touring with them, and it was while being a member of Comanechi that he met Akiko after she joined the band.
He launched his acting career in 2014, when he was cast to appear in the short movie “Life Needs Courage”, then in 2015 he was cast to portray Michael Stevens in another short film, “The Schoolboy”, as well as the dealer in the movie “Rise of the Footsoldier Part II”, and Frank in the movie “Urban & the Shed Crew”.
He made his debut TV series performance in 2015 as well, after he portrayed Gary McCready in two episodes of the British series “DCI Banks”, Riley in the episode “Changing Tides”, and Luke Dickinson in two episodes of the British medical series “Casualty”.
The year 2016 saw him portray Mark in the American movie “As You Are”, and Stephen Portman in the French-Canadian psychological thriller movie “Shut In”, and in 2017 he appeared in two movies – “The Performers: Act III”, and the Spanish psychological horror mystery movie “Marrowbone”.
Two of his most recent roles have been in the movie “No Future” and the American horror film “The New Mutants”, while he has recently been cast to appear in the American-British movie “The Souvenir Part II” set for release in the second half of 2020.

Charlie is said to have had drug problems in the past. When the second season of the series “Stranger Things” held its premiere on 21 October 2017, Charlie wasn’t allowed to enter the US after flying there from London, because cocaine was found in his possession, however, he later stated that he was ‘affected by an issue at U.S. immigration’ and that nothing was related to cocaine.
