Early life and family
Mor Toledano was born in 1988, in Herzliya, Tel Aviv Israel, into a family of Jewish Moroccan descent. She spent her early years living in Tel Aviv until she turned 12, when her parents decided to move to the US, settling in Sacramento, California. From a young age, Mor took a lot of music classes, learning how to play the violin and the piano; she also took vocal classes, but later stated that she couldn’t sing very well.
Mor started her education in Tel Aviv, eventually matriculating from her high school in California in 2006.
Then she enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to major in psychobiology, as she had always been interested in health etc. After her graduation in 2010, she then researched on developmental neuroscience at her Alma Mater for two more years, studying the effects of early life adversity on childhood brain development at UCLA. To earn her MD, she entered the respected David Geffen School of Medicine at the same university.
Mor moved on and eventually took the position of a resident of the Family Medicine Residency Program, based at Kaiser Foundation Hospital located in Fontana, California.

Personal life, husband Ben Shapiro
Mor met Ben Shapiro when she was a senior high school student. They couple became engaged in 2007, and married in 2008. Both Mor and Ben practice Orthodox Judaism, so they had a traditional Jewish wedding, held in Acre, Israel.
The guests were invited to join the groom and bride at the beach, where they pronounced their vows. It is worth mentioning that Ben’s father, who is a professional composer working in Hollywood, wrote the music for the ceremony.
Mor gave birth to their first daughter, Leeya Eliana Shapiro, in 2014, but a year later the couple revealed that their daughter suffered from ASD (atrial septal defect) and had to undergo complicated open heart surgery; the surgery went fine, and Leeya fully recovered. Mor’s husband, Benjamin Aaron Shapiro, was born on 15 January 1984, in Los Angeles, California USA. His parents work in Hollywood, as his father is composer Michael Gordon Shapiro, who wrote music for “High Adventure” (1996) and “Time for Passion” (2011) TV series.
Ben’s mother is an executive TV producer. After graduating from the University of California in 2004, Ben enrolled at Harvard Law School, graduating from there cum laude in 2007. Controversy over Ben Shapiro’s opinion on gay marriage
In his interview to Dave Rubin on “The Rubin Report” show, Ben shared that he was against the government subsidizing gay marriages, in fact against the government getting into any kind of marriage, since he believed the government shouldn’t be involved in marriages at all. However, his words were taken out of context, and provoked a lot of speculation in the media about his being allegedly against gay marriage. ‘Now that the government enshrined gay marriage, the next step is going to be going to religious people and tell them they have to engage with same-sex weddings. So, as a religious person, this is problematic to me’, said Ben. answering the tough question of Dave Rubin.
Ben also stated that he wouldn’t go to a gay wedding, as he doesn’t want to make anyone to join his wedding in his synagogue. Even though Ben emphasized he wasn’t against gay marriage yet didn’t care about it, he was called a homophobe around social media sources. Ben also stated that he would never get AIDS (also calling it a ‘behaviorally driven disease’) as he was a virgin when he married his wife, and she was a virgin at that moment too; he didn’t take any drugs and didn’t have any promiscuous relationships, so he was sure that the only way of his gettingAIDS was a blood transfusion.
