Sasha Roiz was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, on 21 October 1973, so his zodiac sign is Libra, and he now holds both Israeli and Canadian nationality. He is an actor, best known for having starred as Sam Adama in the science fiction series “Caprica”, which also starred Eric Stoltz, Esai Morales, and Paula Malcomson, and which is about the Adamas and the Graystones families, and how they are dealing with artificial intelligence robots which are threatening human existence.
Childhood and education
Sasha spent his first seven years in Tel Aviv, where he was raised a single child by his Russian Jewish father who was a businessman, and his Jewish mother who was teaching at a local high school.

In 1980, Sasha moved with his parents to Montreal, Quebec, Canada and eventually enrolled at a local high school where he was playing basketball, but was mostly focused on working on his acting skills, appearing in most of the plays performed at the school. Upon matriculation, he enrolled at a college to study history, but soon quit and began studying acting at the Guildford School of Acting, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre in 1996.
Roles in movies
Sasha made his debut film appearance in 2004 in the science fiction disaster movie “The Day After Tomorrow”, and was then cast to portray Jason Elias in the action thriller movie “Assault on Precinct 13” which starred Ethan Hawke and Laurence FIshburne and is about a man who has to work with cops and prisoners to protect themselves from corrupt police officers who are trying to kill them all.
In 2005, he played Manolete in the horror post-apocalyptic movie “Land of the Dead”, before being invited to portray the lead character Detective Kaller in the action thriller movie “16 Blocks” which also starred Bruce Willis and Mos Def.
Some of his next roles were in “Man of the Year” in 2006, “Unthinkable” in 2010, and “Extracted” in 2012.
In 2014, Sasha portrayed Proculus in the romantic historical disaster movie “Pompeii”, while his latest role has been in the direct-to-video superhero movie “Superman: Red Son” in 2020, in which he lent his voice to Hal Jordan and Green Lantern.
Sasha has also lent his voice to the Don Esteban Almeida character in the video game “The Godfather II”, and Pavel Cherny in the video game “Wolfenstein” in 2009.

He made his debut TV series appearance in “Largo Winch” in 2001, portraying Sergei in the episode “Endgame”. In 2003, he was cast to play Stephen Lyles in six episodes of the drama series “Playmakers”, and Nathaniel in an episode of “Mutant X”. He went on to appear in single episodes of “Missing” and “Kevin Hill” in 2004, before being cast as Blake in the drama series “Tilt” in 2005.
After being praised for his performance in “Tilt”, Sasha appeared in eight episodes of “Show Me Yours”, and four episodes of “Beautiful People” in 2005, as well as two episodes of “G-Spot” and “The Hane Show” in 2006. Sasha starred as Nick Demoia in the miniseries “The Path to 9/11”, about the Trade Center bombing in 1993, as well as the attacks on 11 September 2001.
He went on to act as Taylor Bloom in four episodes of “Jeff Ltd.” and in a single episode of “NCIS” and “CSI: Miami” in 2007, before winning his first lead role as Ben Ford in the drama series “Across the River to Motor City” which also starred David Fox and Anne Openshaw, and which follows Ben, an insurance investigator working in Windsor and Detroit. Sasha was then invited to guest star in many series such as “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” in 2008, “Lie To Me” in 2009, and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” in 2010, before portraying his second lead character of Sam Adama in “Caprica”.
The year 2011 saw him appear in five TV series with two of his best performances being in “Warehouse 13”, and “Grimm” in which he played the regular character Captain Sean Renard until 2017 when the show ended. Some of his latest appearances in TV series have been in the action thriller series “Taken” in 2018, and “Lucifer” and the legal drama series “Suits” in 2019.

Sasha met the fellow actress Asha Leo in 2012 while they were shooting for a series together. and they started dating in March, but split in 2013 for unknown reasons.
When Sasha was cast to portray Sam Adama in “Caprica”, he didn’t know that his character was gay, and upon finding out stated that he was interested in portraying a gay character and learning about the dynamics of gay relationships in science fiction series. Sasha performed that well that many of his fans still believe the popular actor to be gay, while others have even stated that they’ve seen him with another man holding hands.There are rumors that Sasha has been in relationships with several of his colleague actress, but he currently appears to be single, hasn’t married, and has no children.
Hobbies and other interests
Sasha is a huge lover of animals, and has a pet dog called Bernie The Poo, which can often be seen featured in the pictures he uploads onto his Instagram account. Sasha likes to travel and has been on several trips around the US and Canada, mostly visiting natural attractions such as mountains and national parks. Winter is his favorite season, as he knows how to ski and snowboard, while he also likes summer as he is an avid swimmer and enjoys going snorkeling.
He is a fan of vintage cars, particularly those seen in Mexico and Cuba.
