Early life and education
Janna was raised an only child in Thousand Oaks by her father who is working at a consulting firm, and her mother who is a secretary. She grew up being interested in sports, and was playing soccer and volleyball while attending elementary school, and upon enrolling at a local high school, began competing in cross-country races as well as track & field, and played soccer for her school’s team.
As soon as she entered high school, she started doing gymnastics and was mostly focused on this, which she continued after matriculation. She attended California State University, Channel Islands from which she graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in health communication.
Career as a model and fitness trainer
Her modelling career was launched in 2008, when she began posing for several swimwear brands, mostly to gather enough money to pay for her college tuition. As it was not solely enough, she worked as a receptionist at a home for elderly people in 2009, which she believes was her favorite job amongst all she has done.
She began working at a local pharmacy in 2010, but in 2011decided to focus on her career as a fitness trainer.

Janna has five to six training sessions at the gym every, usually 45 minutes long; she is mostly focused on lifting weights and is not a big fan of machines. She uses the first day of the week to work on her lower body, while Tuesdays are for the upper body, then rests on Wednesdays. She continues with lower body, then upper body, and she then either takes a day off or does mixed upper and lower body.
She does cardio nearly every day, with her favorite exercise being high-intensity interval training (HIIT), while she also does sprints, swimming and often uphill runs.
She is trying to eat as healthily as she can, focused on eating chicken meat, fruits and vegetables, and a higher intake of fats than carbs, as she believes fats to be the main source of her energy, and because she is suffering from Celiac – the immune disease means that she cannot eat gluten, as it could damage her small intestine. Janna is a married woman. She met her future husband in 2011 during one of her photoshoots – the man was passing by and invited her for a cup of coffee. Janna has kept his name hidden from the media’s curiosity but it is known that he is a US Air Force Pilot. They travelled around the country together, and after three years of being in a relationship, they married at a private ceremony attended by around 20 to 30 people.
