Their father is the owner of a small store, while their mother is a housewife. Moises is also an actor, who has been nominated for five awards and is known for his roles in the family comedy sport film “Nacho Libre” released in 2006, and the comedy adventure movie “The Kings of Summer”, which came out in 2013.
Mateo became interested in acting while attending elementary school, and was a member of the school’s drama club, appearing in several plays performed at the school.
He made his debut film appearance in 2005, when he portrayed the Bully Kid in the family comedy fantasy movie “Yours, Mine & Ours”, which starred Dennis Quaid, Rene Russo and Jerry O’Connell, and was about a widower and widow who decide to marry, even though the man’s eight children and the woman’s 10 children are not happy about it. The movie won two awards and was nominated for four others, while it served as the launch pad for Mateo’s career as an actor.
He was physically very active while attending high school, as he played soccer for the school’ team, while he also played a variety of other sports including tennis and football. Mateo spent most of his free time outdoors, but was still mostly focused on practicing his acting skills.
Upon matriculation in 2013, he decided to focus on his acting career rather than to pursue a college degree.
