Kyla Kenedy is an American child actress, who has achieved stardom with the role of Izzie in the television film “Raising Izzie” (2012), and also as Mika Samuels in the TV horror drama series “The Walking Dead” (2013-2015), in addition to other roles that she has acquired in her young career.

Born Kyla Kenedy White on the 4th February 2003, in Charleston, South Carolina, she has remained silent about her parents and siblings. All we know is that she has been interested in acting and performing arts on the whole from an early age, moved to Atlanta in pursuit of new opportunities.
She doesn’t want any paparazzi intruding on her personal life, and hasn’t shared anything about her education, but considering that she is 16 years old, Kyla is still in high school.
Kyla began her career when she was just eight years old in her native Charleston, with a couple of print commercials for Macy’s, Ann Taylor and Hertz, but once she got to Atlanta, her career expanded to new horizons as she began appearing in local commercials. Kyla also secured her first film role, as she was selected for a minor part in the film “The Three Stooges” in 2012.
This was enough for Kyla to gain confidence and experience, and so secure the lead role in the television drama film “Raising Izzie”, starring next to Rockmond Dunbar, Vanessa Williams and Victoria Staley. She received praise for her work, and won several awards, including the Young Artist Award in the category for Best Performance in a TV Movie, Miniseries, Special or Pilot – Leading Young Actress.

The same year, Kyla also featured in the TV series “The New Normal” (2012-2013), while in 2013 she was young Sage in the television film “Hidden Away”.
2013 was her breakthrough year, as she was selected for the part of Mika Samuels in the TV series “The Walking Dead”, and in two years she made appearances in six episodes of the Golden Globe Award-nominated series, which put her on the list of Hollywood stars. In 2014 she starred in the comedy film “Reality”, with Jonathan Lambert and Elodie Bouchez, and continued very successfully, in 2015 portraying the lead character at 10 years old, and also the same year featured in the film “A Gift Horse”, as Amanda, starring next to John Schneider and Candi Brooks.
In 2016, Kyla had another prosperous year, as she secured a couple of notable roles as Brianna in the TV romantic-drama series “The Night Shift” (2016-2017), and Dylan DiMeo in the TV comedy “Speechless” (2016-2019) – the show has been canceled this year, after three seasons, but she has appeared in all 63 episodes of the award-winning series, next to Micah Fowler, Mason Cook, Cedric Yarbrough, John Ross Bowie and Minnie Driver. The show made her even more popular as she got to appear in several high profile events with other stars of the series, such as the Disney ABC Television TCA Summer Press Tour Party held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel, among others.
Concurrently she worked on other projects, including the film “Love Is All You Need?”, starring with Briana Evigan and Tyler Blackburn, and for which she won the Best Actress award at the Napa Valley Film Festival. The same year she appeared in the romantic film “Free Time of About Us”, and recently as Amanda in the TV series “Chicago P.D.” and its spin-off “Chicago Med”, both in 2019.
Kyla has also tried herself in voice acting, and so far she has been very successful.
In 2014 she was the voice of Tamara in the animated TV series “Doc McStuffins”, while from 2015 to the present she has been the voice of Piper in the animated TV series “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie”, and so far featuring in 24 episodes of the award-nominated series.
