He is an actor, dancer and a reality TV star, perhaps known best for his portrayal of the lead character Ren McCormack in the 2011 critically acclaimed musical comedy film “Footloose”, written and directed by Craig Brewer, and which also starred Julianne Hough and Dennis Quaid. Early life and education

Kenny was raised alongside his two brothers Lee and Dylan, in Stoughton, Massachusetts by their father Edgar K. Wormald who was a theatre actor, and their mother Melanie who was a model.

He became interested in dancing at a very early age, and after his parents noticed his passion, they enrolled him at a school for the performing arts at which Kenny practiced dancing, singing and acting. He enrolled at Stoughton High School in 1998 at which he was physically very active, as he played both football and soccer, and was a member of the school’s choir and the drama club, appearing in nearly all the plays performed at the school.

After matriculation in 2002, Kenny chose not to enroll at a college, but to move to Los Angeles in California, and focus on his acting and dancing career.

Career as a dancer

Kenny was already an avid dancer by the time he turned 13, as he won the Master Dance of New England and the title Junior Mr. Dance of New England – he won the title Teen Dancer of Boston just a year later, and a year after that became Teen Mr. Dance of New England. Kenny also had an opportunity to dance at the White House for the former President of the United States of America, Bill Clinton.

He was 18 when he competed at the World Dance Championships held in Riesa, Germany, winning it with his tap dance performance.
