How Ronnie Radke Overcame Addiction and Found Redemption in Rock

Published

on

Who is Ronnie Radke?

Famous American singer-songwriter and record producer Ronald Joseph ‘Ronnie’ Radke was born in Las Vegas, Nevada USA, on 15 December 1983, making Sagittarius his zodiac sign. He’s probably known best for being the former lead singer of the rock ‘n’ roll band Escape the Fate, while he’s today the lead singer of the rock ‘n’ roll band Falling in Reverse.

Education and early life

Ronnie was raised in Las Vegas alongside his brothers Matthew Radke and Anthony James Radke, by their father Russell Radke; their (unnamed) mother was a drug addict and rarely spent any time at home. Ronnie’s brother Anthony died in a car crash in 2013, aged 33.

Ronnie began playing the guitar while attending a local elementary school, and started off by learning Blink-182 songs. He became serious about music while attending a local high school, and founded several bands during his time there; he once ran away from home to play with his friends, and claimed that their band sounded ‘just like Blink-182’. Ronnie spent some time living with his best friend Mitch, prior to spending some time living with his mother.

He and his band performed a few times at Huntridge and Chain Reaction in Las Vegas, the after they disbanded, he returned home and continued living with his father and brothers. Ronnie enrolled at high school again, but then also dropped out again. At the age of 17, he founded the band True Story together with Max Green, and with them recorded the songs “The Worst Time” and “Listen Up!”, which he had previously written in 1998.

Career as a musician

In 2004, aged 20, Ronnie was suggested to Bryan Mooney who was looking for a vocalist for his band; he was impressed with Ronnie’s skills, and after Robert Ortiz was selected as their drummer, they founded Escape the Fate; not long after this, Omar Espinosa became their rhythm guitarist, and Carson Allen their keyboardist.

The year 2006 saw Escape the Fate record the demo “Escape the Fate EP” and sign with Epitaph Records; on 26 September of the same year, they released their debut album “Dying Is Your Latest Fashion”.

Ronnie was already on probation when he was arrested in 2008 for owning brass knuckles, and was sentenced to spend 2.5 years behind bars, and was thus kicked out of Escape the Fate and replaced by Craig Mabbitt. Ronnie and Craig entered a feud while he was in jail, as Craig often insulted Ronnie during Escape the Fate’s live performances, while Ronnie responded on social media networks; Craig then began dating Ronnie’s former girlfriend – hostilities only ended in 2014, when Escape the Fate and Ronnie’s new band both headlined the Bury the Hatchet tour.

They revealed on 5 January 2022 that they were working on their upcoming extended play (EP) “Neon Zombie”.

Ronnie then feuded with the band I See Stars and the record label Sumerian Records, releasing the diss track “I Wash Cars”; the founder of Sumerian Records Ash Avildsen responded with his own diss track “When Ronnie Met Sally”, but the feud has since been resolved.

Who is Darcy LaPier married? Van Damme ex-wife Biography

Published

on

Who is Darcy LaPier?

Darcy LaPier was born 21 July 1965, in Molalla, Oregon, USA, so her birth sign is Cancer and she holds American nationality. She is a former actress, producer and a model. Even though high-profile marriages are the most prominent detail about her life, in the last two decades she’s transformed herself  into one of the top award-winning professional barrel racers.

Darcy graduated from Portland (Oregon ) University, and studied drama at the University of Oregon and Huntington Film Institute in Florida

Acting Career

Besides modeling, she dabbled in acting as well, with supporting parts in minor movies between 1988 and 1999.

https://www.instagram.com/p/VsetqVOAvR/

Some of those are ‘Think Big’, ‘Double Trouble’  and Street Fighter’ alongside Jean Claude Van Damme.  In 2013 she came back into public focus as the star and executive producer of A&E’s reality TV show ‘Rodeo Girls’ , which followed a group of rodeo veterans and rookies driven by the singular goal of winning as they travel the country with their horses.

Marriage 1#

In 1984 at the age of 19, she married  Larry Lay Robertson. Driven by the wish to step into the Hollywood scene, she began attending beauty pageants, and soon gained a lot of attention.

However, her ambition and her status as a married woman didn’t match at the time, so she left her husband and set off for a possible acting and modeling career; the latter was somewhat successful, as she was Miss Portland International, Raceway, Miss Budweiser, Miss Miller.

Marriage 2#

It seemed that she was not meant for small-town fame, as she dreamt of making it big. Soon she would be given a chance to taste Hollywood fame when she was chosen as a representative for the Hawaiian Beauty Contest in 1985.

As a beautiful and attractive young lady, she caught the eye of the President of the Hawaiian Tropic, wealthy mogul Ron Rice whom she ‘married’ in 1991, in a ceremony which reportedly cost $1 million. Their ‘marriage’ was blessed with a baby girl, Sterling, however, complications arose, as while she was still married to Ron Rice, she met and fell in love with the screen-action hero, Jean Claude Van Damme, who was also married at the time, to Gladys Portugues. Consequently Ron Rice filed for divorce, but learned that at the time of their marriage she hadn’t still divorced from her first husband, Larry, so Rice filed for the annulment of the marriage, and as a consequence of that, Darcy was allowed child support, but not alimony. She finally  divorced Larry in 1993.

Her marriage 3# to Jean Claude Van Damme

After the annulment of  her ‘marriage’ to Ron Rice, she and now-divorced Van Damme married in February 1994, in Bangkok, Thailand. On 10 October 1995, they welcomed a son, Nickolas Van Varenberg, but this marriage wasn’t meant to last either, and they divorced in November 1997 – apparently the relationship was rather volatile and intense, as she filed for divorce three times in three years. According to the reports, Darcy claimed that Jean Claude was an aggressive cocaine addict who would often resort to violence and beat her. She even filed for a restraining order.as well as custody of their son. As a part of the divorce settlement, she received $10 million plus child support.

Marriage 4#

Her next marriage was to Mark R. Hughes, the founder of Herbalife, a global nutrition and weight management company. They married on Valentine’s day in 1999 in an apparently extravagent ceremony, and settled in Hughes’ 32,000-square-foot house in Malibu. As usual, the pattern for Darcy continued, as this marriage also wouldn’t last, but this time because Hughes died just one year into their marriage – he reportedly took a prescription pill, after drinking a huge amount of alcohol, making it a lethal mixture, and Darcy woke to find her husband dead. The autopsy revealed that the pill he had taken coupled with alcohol proved to be deadly. Darcy inherited $100 million from her husband’s business and estate.

After Hughes died, she took her children and moved to Oregon, where she would begin her barrel racing career.

Marriage 5#

After four unsuccessful marriages, Darcy was still determined to find the love of her life. In 2002 she married Brian Snodgrass, co-owner of Seven Dee’s Nursery. They had a child together, Madison, but again this marriage also wasn’t meant for the long run, and they divorced in 2013.

Barrel Racing

As a girl, she attended many rodeo events with her father, and soon developed a liking for it, which would drive her to learn and compete in barrel racing.

Despite her adoration of equine sports, which were instilled in her at a young age, only after the death of Hughes would she take a chance to reinvent herself, and take a shot at barrel racing. She made a risky move and moved with her children to Oregon, in hopes of training and becoming an exquisite barrel racer. Eventually, her resolve and tenacity paid off in 2004, earning the most money for a rookie. After that, she continued to add various titles and winnings to her already stacked biography.

Briefly about Jaun Claude Van Damme

Jean Claud Van Damme is a famous action star, born in 1960 in Belgium, the son of Eugene Van Varenberg and Eliana Van Varenberg.

At the urging of his father, he started training at the age of eleven at the Center National De Karate. By 1980 Van Damme had become one of the best full-contact fighters in Europe, and after a successful sports career, he ventured to the US in pursuit of his dream of becoming an actor. He had his first notable role in 1984 in the movie ‘No Retreat, No Surrender’, which kick-started a series of roles in martial arts movies that made him famous. In the late ’80s and until the mid-’90s, he had roles in several commercially successful movies- ‘Bloody Sports(1988), Kickboxer (1989), Universal Soldier (1992), and ‘Time Cop’ – the latter movie became a major international hit, grossing over $100 million. However, in the second half of the ’90s, he starred in a series of commercially unsuccessful films that hurt his career.

Even though he never managed to score a role that would top the success of the ‘Universal Soldier’, he continued to star in various minor movies throughout the last two decades.

Net worth?

As of late 2020, Darcy’s net worth has been estimated at an astonishing $100 million, most of her money coming from hefty divorce settlements. The barrel racer is also known for endorsing several brands and companies however, reliable information about her income hasn’t been revealed.

Is she active on social media?

It seems that her busy life kept her from being active on social media, but even so, she uses Instagram to post photos of her children, her barrel racing scores, and an occasional meme or two.
