Marques Keith Brownlee, known better by his professional name MKBHD, was born in Maplewood, New Jersey USA, on 3 December 1993 – his zodiac sign is Sagittarius and he holds American nationality. He is a professional ultimate Frisbee player and a YouTuber, who might be known best for his YouTube channel onto which he uploads videos related to technology.
Childhood and education
Marques was raised in Maplewood, but not a lot is known about his parents and siblings as he prefers to keep his personal matters to himself – it’s believed that his father is working for an IT company, and that his mother is a housewife.
He studied at Columbia High School at which he became interested in various sports such as football and soccer, while he also occasionally played Frisbee with his friends. After ,matriculating in 2011, Marques enrolled at Stevens Institute of Technology’s Howe School from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in business and technology in May 2015.
He then started working as a YouTuber, and since 2016 has been working from a studio in Kearny, New Jersey.

Marques launched his YouTube channel on 21 March 2008, but didn’t start uploading videos until January 2009 – today it’s subscribed to by more than 13 million people and counts over 2.27 billion views of all his videos combined.
Marques is the owner of one of the most subscribed technology YouTube channels, and in August 2013, the former senior vice president of Google, Vic Gundotra called him ‘the best technology reviewer on the planet right now’.
Various websites have promoted Marques’ videos. including the multilingual technology blog network Endadget and the Android phablet LG G Flex. After Marques uploaded a video featuring himself doing a scratch test on 4.7 inch sapphire display of the iPhone 6, it became popular in a day, and was featured on various websites such as Time Magazine, HuffPost and The Verge, while it also appeared on NBC News and in various newspapers all across the globe.
He had a chance to interview the late Kobe Bryant in December 2015, and talked to him about the gadgets and devices he might had been using as well as about the shoes Kobe 11, which he designed.
A year later, Marques interviewed Craig Federighi, senior vice president of software engineering at Apple, and the American astrophysicist, and science communicator Neil deGrasse Tyson in March 2018. The same year saw him interview Elon Musk, win a Shorty Award for Creator of the Decade, and make a guest appearance in the web series “Hot Ones”. Career as a Frisbee player
Marques gained recognition as a professional ultimate Frisbee player in 2015, when he joined Garden State, having previously played for teams such as the New York Rumble and New Jersey Hammerheads.
He played with Garden State until 2017, when he joined Philadelphia Phoenix, and then after a year moved to New York Empire, competing in the American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL) – they became the AUDL Champions in 2019.
Love life and girlfriend
Marques is somewhat secretive when it comes to his love life, but it’s known that he has been dating his girlfriend for a couple of years now. While her real name isn’t known, she goes by the name Nikki Hair on Instagram, and is followed by around 5,000 people. The two haven’t shared the details of how and when they met, but Marques occasionally tweets and uploads pictures featuring the two of them together, and once wrote about how he helped Nikki in the kitchen, only to end up with a plastered finger!
