Childhood and educationand
Frankie was raised in Wyckoff alongside his three older brothers Kevin, Joe and Nick, by their parents who are of very mixed European, French-Canadian and American Cherokee. Their father Paul Kevin Jonas Sr. was a musician and an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God Church, while their mother Denise Marie was a singer and a sign language teacher. All three of Frankie’s brothers are actors and musicians, who are best known for having founded the band The Jonas Brothers, and because Frankie isn’t a member of the band, he is often referred to as ‘The Bonus Jonas’.
Frankie became interested in acting at a very early age, as he was motivated by his parents and brothers, and so joined his elementary school’s drama club at the age of seven – he actually launched his acting career when he was nine. He was interested in sports while attending high school, as he played both football and soccer, and upon matriculation in 2018, decided not to pursue a college degree but to focus on his career as an actor.
Career as an actor
Frankie aforementioned debut was in 2008, when he was invited to voice Sosuke, one of two lead characters in the English version of the Japanese animated movie “Ponyo”, created by Studio Ghibli – the film was both written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, and the English version starred Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon and Liam Neeson. Frankie also sang the song “Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea” in the movie, which follows a five-year old boy who meets Ponyo, a goldfish princess who becomes human after developing feelings for Sosuke – it won 12 awards and was nominated for 20 others.
In 2009, Frankie made an uncredited appearance when he portrayed The Child in Museum in the critically acclaimed adventure comedy film “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian”, which starred Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson. In 2010, he played Junior Rocker Trevor in the musical comedy film “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam”, which starred Demi Lovato, Joe and Nick Jonas. In 2011, Frankie voiced Pip in the family fantasy film “Spooky Buddies”, and three of his most recent roles have been in the 2012 animated family musical movie “The Reef 2: High Tide” in which he voiced Junior, the episodes “Coat Rack Cowboy” and “Pumpkinhead” of the action adventure series “R. L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour” in 2013, and the family film “Gutsy Frog” in which he starred as Frankie in 2013.

The last Frankie’s relationship whom the public knows about was with Austin, with whom he went to her prom – they dated for several years before splitting ways. Several of his fans claim to have seen Frankie walking hand in hand with his new girlfriend in the streets of Los Angeles in 2017, but as Frankie hasn’t talked about any other girls he might have been with, he is single as of October 2020, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
