Early life and education
Antoinette was raised in The Bronx by her parents who are originally from Jamaica. Antoinette is their only child, apparently conceived by her mother Joan Scott Robertson after a bit of a struggle.
Antoinette attended Jamaica Anglican all-girls school where she was physically very active, competing in several sports while also being a cheerleader. She launched her acting career while attending high school, but nevertheless continued with her education by enrolling at Stony Brook University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 2015.While attending college, she also practiced acting, enrolling at the William Esper Studio Conservatory where she studied theater arts.
Career as an actress
Antoinette first gained recognition after she was cast to appear in the “Zero Hour” drama fantasy TV series in 2013, which follows a man who is dragged into a conspiracy after working as an editor for a skeptics magazine for over 20 years.
In 2014, she was invited to portray Lynly Hayes in the “Hart of Dixie” TV comedy drama series, which follows Zoe Hart who is a doctor and who is invited to work for Dr. Harley Wilkes in Bluebell in Alabama, however, after her arrival, she learns that the doctor died and has left her in charge. In 2015 she appeared in “The Haves and the Have Nots” crime drama TV series, which follows families Cryer and Harrington who are rich, and the Young family who are poor. Her next role was in 2016 in the “Atlanta” TV comedy drama music series, which follows Earn and Alfred who trying to become famous rappers.
From there, she went on to appear in the “Mary + Jane” TV comedy series, and “The Late Bloomer” comedy drama movie in 2016.
Antoinette’s breakthrough role came in 2017, when she was invited to star as Colandrea Coco Conner in the “Dear White People” TV comedy drama series, which follows a couple of black students who are facing racism and other problems while attending Ivy League College. Antoinette remains a member of the cast to this day, appearing in all 40 episodes of the show. She is also a model currently signed to Los Angeles Models, and she has posed for many famous brands such as Gucci, Burberry, and Armani.
