Sharon was raised alongside her sister Michelle Marie Stow Vance, and brother Steven in Severna Park by their parents W. Kent Stow and Joy Johnson, who were both devout Christians.
Sharon became interested in medicine at a very early age, and grew up dreaming about helping sick children and elderly people. She attended a local high school at which she was interested in acting and creative writing, and upon matriculation in 1988, Sharon enrolled at James Madison University in Virginia, USA from which she graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

The two initially agreed to wait to have children and to focus on their careers, so it was several years later that they welcomed their daughter Hartley, while their son Peter followed around two years later – their third daughter was born years later, and both the date of her birth and her name have been kept a secret.
It was announced in 2017 that Sharon and Jim had split after being married for around 24 years, so as of December 2020, Sharon is single, has been married, and has three children.

Sharon likes to read books in her spare time, and her favorite genres are science fiction and fantasy, while her favorite books are the franchise “The Lord of the Rings” by J. R. R. Tolkien. Jim was raised in Washington, D.C. by his father who came to the US from Cuba at the age of 11, and his mother who is of Czech and Irish descent. Jim attended Annandale High School, from which he matriculated in 1989, and then enrolled at James Madison University, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in mass communication in 1993.
Jim launched his career while still attending college, as he worked at WXJM student radio station, while he also worked as a reporter at WSVA radio station. His first more serious job came in 1993 when he joined WMAL, then after a year there, Jim quit and joined his first TV station – WTTG-TV as their desk assistant. In 1995, he became a reporter and a fill-in anchor at WBIR-TV, holding the job until 1998 when he joined KTVT-TV in Dallas. After two years there, he moved to WBBM-TV in Chicago, and in 2003 switched to CBS News where he stayed for the following four years.

This led Jim and CNN to file a civil suit against Donald Trump and many other people working at the White House on 13 November 2018, and on 16 November Jim received his credentials back for two weeks – three days later, the suit was dropped by CNN.
Jim is also an author, having released his book “The Enemy of the People: A Dangerous Time to Tell the Truth in America” in 2019.
